Where It Started

SALT ROCK, SOUTH AFRICA

Growing up on the KwaZulu-Natal coast teaches you something about permanence. Salt air tests everything. You learn to build things that last — or you learn why they didn't.

Before Salties Customs, there was a steel fabrication and custom furniture business in South Africa, supplying interior designers and commercial projects for two decades. That background — working across steel, timber, and everything between — shaped a way of thinking that doesn't fit neatly into one category.

The move to Surrey didn't change the approach. It expanded it. Salties Customs isn't just a furniture maker or a builder — it's a brand built around the belief that anything worth doing is worth doing properly.
